[Roadsters] ROTA Wheels

Hi Joseph,

I had purchased a set of ROTA wheels and found that they did not fit flat on the front wheel hubs as there is a ridge on the car hubs.....see picture.

I had to machine a larger chamfer on the inside of the mag wheels to make it fit over the ridge so that the wheel and hub made full contact when the wheel lugs were tightened up.

Other than that I have no issues to date.

What happens when they go bad? I have a strange metal on metal THUNK in the front end when I hit the brakes firmly or go over a bump. I've had several mechanics check the brakes, steering system (including the problematic idler box), suspension, and they can't find it. I've replaced the spindle, control arms, lower ball joints, rebuilt the idler box, replaced springs, etc and it still makes the noise. The slop in the front end is mostly gone though and steering is tighter, so that is good. Just not sure where the noise is coming from. It sounds to me like it's the frame moving on the chassis.
ANY IDEAS? thank you
One other question: Anyone know where to get nice FLOOR MATS? I"m looking for nice black carpeted ones with the Datsun logo. I see that Zcars sells them, but not for the roadster. It looks like it will fit passenger side but not driver side due to footrest and gas pedal.

Does anyone have experience with ROTA wheels? I am interested in purchasing a set of 15" wheels and see this brand on Ebay for about half the cost of Panasports.

Thanks,
Joseph
