Are you superstitious? Do you suffer from "Triskaidekaphobia"**? Or are =
you a brave soul willing to venture into the dark and accept the =
challenge brought to you by the witches and warlocks?
It is time one again for our annual night rally event that combines a =
standard time-speed-distance rally with a number of stops. The =
competitors are required to complete certain Halloween related tasks =
often of a rather humorous nature and then finish with a large outdoor =
party. This is a reanimation of a Halloween tradition that was started =
in the late 60's by the Volkswagen Club of Iowa. DMVR began our own =
Halloween tradition by recreating this event with the assistance of two =
the original "witches", Carol Carter and Terry Montgomery.
Teams consisting of a Driver and Navigator will follow a set of written =
instructions on an interesting drive in and around Des Moines area (all =
paved roads). Scoring is based on maintaining a precise average speed, =
correctly answering a series of questions asked along the way, and =
performing a number of tasks assigned by the witches. THIS IS NOT A =
RACE! Any street legal car, van or truck is suitable for this event; you =
don't have to own a sports car. The rally will conclude with a party =
including food, beverage and the event results.
Date: Saturday night, October 11th
Registration: 5:00-6:30 pm
Mandatory Entrant's Meeting at 6:30pm
First Car on Course at 7:00pm
Starting from: Triad AV Services, 1910 Ingersoll Ave. Des Moines
Entry Fee: SCCA Club members - $15.00/person
Non-Members - $20.00/person
Passengers (beyond Driver and Navigator) - $5.00/person
Entrants should also bring one pumpkin, a carving knife, a spoon, a =
flashlight, a trash bag, and a sense of humor. Halloween costumes are =
optional, but strongly encouraged.
Important Stuff: All drivers must have a valid driver's license and =
entrants and passengers under age 18 must have a Minor Release Waiver =
signed by both parents or guardians. Possession and/or consumption of =
alcoholic beverages or controlled substances prior to or during the =
rally is prohibited. All vehicles must be able to pass a basic =
technical/safety inspection of lights, turn signals, horn, brakes, seat =
belts, etc., and must have proof of an insurance policy in force with =
limits not less than $20,000/$40,000/$10,000.

Is there a locking hood pin that has ring clips that lock over the hood pin?
I don't want the plates that you stick the key in and they lock.
Peace Out,

Heard thru the rumor mill...
The Sunoco 94 track gas is empty at Midamericar Motorplex and won't get
filled until after the double Regionals on October 4/5. The BP at exit 35 has
Amoco Ultimate 92 but I have heard that it is low also.
Looks like it is BYOB.
