[Fot] Triumphs Racing in 1968

If there was no other choice, I would run TR6 wheels on my TR3 and have a
photo from Lime Rock, 1967 showing me going into the esses with those wheels.
However, we used them only as a last resort because the wider steel wheels
were even more likely at the bolt circle than the narrow ones. I usually had
rain tires on them.

At the race when the photo was taken, I think one of my American Mags had
cracked and I had no spare so used the TR6 wheels.

Heady stuff. This was the time when I was first becoming addicted to sports
car racing, and it is thrilling to see the cars as they were at that time.
Interesting to see the TR3s fitted out with what look like TR6 wheels. I love
the captions and copy, too. Really captures the spirit of the time. The
rivalry seemed to be between Porches and TRs. Trying to think why MG is
absent. I know the Bs were running at the time. Anyone care to elucidate?
Thanks Rich. ----- Original Message ----- From: rikrock at aol.com> To:
