My memory of the conversation I had with him is not fresh (neither is  
my memory of what I had for dinner tonight), but as I recall he said  
he had a TR2 or 3, perhaps as a street car? That might explain why he  
took the ride.
He expressed great fondness for them. In the conversations I had with  
him (fewer and shorter than I would have liked) he always impressed me  
as a guy who wouldn't exaggerate even to be nice. Well mannered but  
straightforward.
