Greetings,

I just had the block decked and liners turned and fitted to .004 proud of the
block.

The head goes out today to get cc'd and milled for 12.5:1.

I measured the unswept area between the top of the piston and top of the liner

and it's only .017. Of coarse the sleeves have already been relieved at the
intake valve area's,

I took them down from the top 3mm which is almost 1/2 the distance to the top
ring at TDC.

As I understandB the two reasons for the relief in the liner are to improve
flow from the intake valve and

clearance for the intake valve at full lift ( for some cams). Now I'm
wondering if too much was taken off the block & liners.

Does anybody know what B the clearance from top of piston to top of liner
should be B ?

Thanks,

Jim G.
