Although that will work, IMO a better solution is to have your local
radiator shop put on a standard neck.  Makes it much easier to try different
pressures, and cost me less than $20.

Plus personally I am fond of the "Lev-R-Vent" type caps that allow you to
vent the system first without having to turn the cap.  Less force involved
means less likely to crack that long neck where it joins the radiator.

Of course then you have to remember not to put a stock TR3 cap back on ...
