I do the same thing surfing. I couldn't figure out why I couldn't hold my
breath longer when I'm getting worked, I'd be out of air in no time, even
though I can hold my breath for almost two minutes. Turns out I hold my breath
from the time time I get into a wave until I turn out--got to work on that.

Diane has had a few too many rides with me. The best was when we did a couple
of fairly quick parade laps around Laguna Seca in Peyote when Specials were
the marque at the Historics. She was sitting on the fuel cell, holding the
roll bar with one hand on her "Shady Brady" cowbow hat. She was kind of
yelling at me most of the way around, but when we hit the corkscrew she let
out a scream they could hear in Carmel. Did it the second time too.
