[Fot] timing issues

FOT'RS; It's crunch time for me out west here, i have a question. I have a
Erson B23 cam that i'am try to set up in relation to my crank. After a couple
of tries i got the crank/cam set to erson specs. 29BTDC with 50 thou. lift on
intake lobe.When i take the cam chain tensioner and put pressure on it as it
would have with the cover in place, it wants to throw my cam setting off by
5-6 thou.Do i set my specs with tension on chain or not??? I need some input.
