I think you had better take another look at PRI's product.  It is a
replacement for the road spring to coil-over but leaves the swing axle
intact (if that is the product you are referring to).  In my estimation,
that is nothing more than "Bling"

I don't know about the vintage sanctioning bodies, but PRI already sells an
IRS conversion
for the Spitfire. Around $1350US.
