 FOT,

Information on leakdown testing proved to be very interesting and useful,
especially in the future.

Primary cause appears to be inadequate liner protrusion leading to gasket
failure with combustion leakage to the pushrod and tappet areas, which
pressurized the crankcase beyond it's ability to vent.

Secondary causes may be an early version of a Cometic Gasket and higher
compression ratio than I really need to run on this engine.

The head is a bit suspicious but nothing to indicate it was part of the
problem.

No matter.....engine being reassembled to proper liner specs and head being
replaced, along with reduced compression ratio. The objective here is sort out
ergonomics and suspension first. With small cockpit, 50/50 weight
distribution, and lower center of gravity, the AMBRO isnt the TR4 #197 I
became used to.

The good news here, is that the new shop is increasingly functionally and I am
finding more time to work on MY stuff. Doesnt hurt to have GRANDSON with
increasing competencies working along side.

Thanks again.... Joe A.
