There are Not street legal versions of both petroleum and synthetic VR1's.  hard to find and expensive.

I thought there were two types of VR-1, one being full synth. The VR-1 that
I've used says ZDDP added. I'm using Brad Penn now, Joe Gibbs would be great
except for the 15.00 per Qt. part. If you want to talk oil and clearances
call the Joe Gibbs tech line. Lake Speed will be the one answering and he
really knows motors and oil.

Greg,

Are you saying the street legal VR1 sold at most auto parts stores isn't OK?

They put the ZDDP back into the formula and are putting little yellow labels

on to promote it. I've had success with it.
