I am going through this as I need to procure a set of tyres for a GT6 I just
bought for my wife.

Good 13 inch street tyres are getting very hard to find no that the HTR200
is out of production.  The only thing they make now in a 13 is the T4 which
in a mini-van tyre.  I have HTR200s (185/60-13) on my street Spit 1500 and a
set of 155/50/13s for rain and autocross use.

The best choice I can find is 175/70-13s with a choice of either Michelin or
General.
The Michelin Defender is a new tyre and has no reviews but I have always had
good experience with Michelin. However at $84 each they are pricy. Country
of origin: Mexico
The General Altimax RT gets great reviews and at $50 each is priced right.
They are made in Mexico or Brazil (Is it too much to ask to buy a tyre made
here?)

I will most likely order the Generals unless somebody else can suggest a
better option.

On another note if you are looking for 13 inch slicks for race/track
day/autoX I have been buying sets very cheaply off e-bay.  Just do a search
for "usdrrt 13".   For example he has sets of 4 Hoosier 21.5x8-13 slicks for
$99 with free shipping.

I have had success with Sumitomo HTR 200 in Size 215/50 R1 as a great street
tire or racing rain. It appears that Tire Rack no longer carries them, but
it would be worth looking around to see if someone else has them.

It appears that sticky sport radial road tires in 13" sizes suitable for use
