If the holes were filled with bondo, it shouldn't be difficult to find them
from the back side.  But punching them out will probably leave a bigger hole
than the letter will cover, particularly if the bondo is thicker than 1/16".
I find myself wondering why the holes were filled if the letters were going
to be put back on.

My 64 Spit has had the Triumph letters removed from the bonnet, filled and
repainted.

I have been unable to find a source for a template. If anyone has a source
or
is willing to put some tracing paper together on a project car and mark the
holes with some measurements, I would greatly appreciate it.
