For those of you planning on racing the Kastner Cup next year at Summit Point,
it's worth pointing out the Vintage Racer Group tech sheet design and
language. The tech sheet has a list of safety items, and a column for the
inspector to check them off, but the next column requires the driver to sign
off on the condition of all the same items. The following language could be
viewed as a disclaimer of liability by the club, but should probably be viewed
as assigning primary responsibility where it belongs - to the car owner.

I know I certainly approach tech thinking my car is in good shape, but also
with the "boy, I hope they don't find anything" attitude. Instead, I should
be wishing that they find any real safety issue I've overlooked.
I have, as the Owner/Driver inspected the above vehicle and take full
responsibility for its condition on the race course. I agree that the
inspection conducted by this inspector is in no way intended to be a
certification, representation, or guarantee of any kind that said automobile
is fit or safe to drive, and that this technical inspection does not create,
either expressly or impliedly, any liability on the part of the inspectors,
event organizers, or venue management. I, the undersigned Owner and/or Driver
agree to release and hold harmless the inspectors, event organizers . . . etc
