This thread on which flywheel for which Spitfire reminds me of a near fisticuffs discussion I witnessed at one of the last NATC gatherings before they became the VTR Convention.  It was at the Concour de Elegance judging, and two TR3 owners were arguing about whose car was 'original as built', because they had different suspension parts.  They were both 'correctly described being 'as built'.  Especially towards the end of a model's run (i.e., the TR3B) TRIUMPH was building cars with whatever parts were left on the shelf.  It resulted in some unique cars, and some heated discussions.

Isn't the crankshaft boss on the late 1296/1500 larger in diameter?
