In a gate building video I watched on YouTube the maker highlighted this very cool website for making templates to cut pipe miters for welding.  I looked at the site and there are many functions for layout and other things, like pulley calculator, that are free and easy to use at home and in the workshop.  Plans and templates can be printed.
