Well...it has a Spitfire block...
I guess that puts an end to my dream of driving a Gloria Southern Cross in a Kastner Cup some day.

Thanks Brad,
It would be great for display, but small “open wheel cars” on the Kastner Cup grid would not be a good idea.
Just a reminder: only TRIUMPHS that ran during the KASTNER ERA are eligible for the Kastner Cup.
This is THE KASTNER CUP, honoring Kas Kastner.
Brad, we hope you are able to bring your historic Spitfire.

What a cool car...and fit for a Kastner Cup appearance. How great would it be to have a 1960 Autosport Formula Junior car on the grid for Kastner Cup!

Some of you here are on Facebook, and have seen the post in the Racing
the Triumph Spitfire group. For those who haven't, here's a synopsis.
Looks like Kastner Cup material to me.

Following on from Brads share, I thought I might add a bit more detail
regarding the Autosport mk2 1957 Canada Class/ 1960 Formula Junior race
car with her Standard Triumph spit based engine.
The car was built by Autosport Equipment co. ltd in Cooksville Ontario
originally as a Canda Class race car in 1957 using a modified Standard
10 engine, Lotus 11 gearbox, Triumph Mayflower brakes and rear axle
which was cut down to allow Chapman strut rear suspension using the
drive shaft as the upper suspension arm. To lower the the center of
gravity a chain drive drop box was fabricated to sit on the nose of the
diff and lower the prop shaft.
