Painting your name / ID of some sort on the roof helps authorities find your stuff from the air and LoJack or similar is also useful .

I saw where ANOTHER trailer and race car got stolen by a dirtbag this morning. FWIW I recently installed a trailer alarm system on my enclosed trailer.  Not cheap at around $600 but I figure cheaper than replacing my stuff. It was a pretty painless install even for me. It has door sensors and a motion sensor. If it is triggered an alarm goes off, the lights start flashing and it applies the trailer brakes.
