Put the collar under the plate. They also make bearings for springs that allow easier adjustment.

Amici,

 

Just one of those days. New Spax shocks arrive. Install time. 1 bolt, 2 nuts and done, right?

 

Nope...that is far too easy. Koni shocks hold the spring in place with an outside collar, Spax with an inside collar. The inside collar diameter is 2.65 inches.

 

What's the problem? The inside diameter of my spring is 2.58 inches. They don't fit over the collar. 

 



 

I am assuming I have factory competition springs from in period that I don't want to let go of. 

 

Go figure...I guess my only solution is to ruin all that pretty powder coating and turn down the collar to fit...
