Race at Pitt Race and the PVGP will securely store your rig at the track for free so you can return the following weekend to run with us through the streets of Schenley Park. You save $120 when you enter both weekends. There are separate links for each race event so if you are racing both weekends you will be prompted to enter the other race. You can enter in any order and at different times.

Vipers Spotlighted in Modern Historics Race Group at Pitt Race
The Dodge Viper is being honored as the Spotlight Car of the 2022 Pittsburgh Vintage Grand Prix. Vipers will race in the Modern Historics group all weekend at Pitt Race.
Track Owners Jim & Kathy Stout are excited to host their favorite cars on their track.Robert Strickland is busy filling the grid with Vipers.
There will also be activities throughout Race Week. Roy “Father Viper” Sjoberg as well as other members of the Viper Team will be at Schenley Park as special guests the second weekend.

Kastner Cup - Saturday, July 16
The 2022 Kastner Cup will be contested during the PVGP Historics at PIRC. Triumphs will race within their assigned small-bore and medium-bore race groups through the weekend, and then all Triumphs will compete for the 20th Kastner Cup on Saturday afternoon.

“This will be the 20th running of the Kastner Cup, bringing Triumph TR’s, GT6 and Spitfires together for a national race,” said Jim Dolan, the 2022 Kastner Cup event chairman and winner in 2018. “Pitt Race is an exciting 2.8-mile track with great elevation changes, fast sections and big runoff areas. Drivers who race in the Kastner Cup are also invited to race with us the following weekend through the streets of Schenley Park – racing like it was in the late 50’s, hay bales and all”, said Dolan.Details

Driver Survey - We're Listening!
We conducted a driver survey in September of 2021 after the races and results were very positive on both race weekends. However, there were issues and we are listening to you and will make several changes:
ScheduleWe are revamping our schedule to increase track time for all groups, with more races and less practice and qualifying.
Flags We are updating our flagging procedures to ensure more green flag laps and to fix the black flag issues we had at Pitt Race.
Dinner The Saturday dinner at Pitt Race will move upstairs at the Conference Center. We will reduce the wait time and increase the quality of the meal - beer will stay the same!
Paving Parts of the Schenley Park road course were redone in the fall and we anticipate more paving to take place in the spring.
Registration Last year was our first attempt at using MotorsportReg for racer registration and the first time for some of the racers. We have revamped and simplified the process. Kudos to John & Tori Ross for taking over late in the game to get us through 2021 and for coming back this year. We promise improvements and if you have any issues please email John Ross.

VRG Partnership
The PVGP and the Vintage Racer Group are combining efforts for the PVGP Historics at Pitt Race again this year. We look forward to a great weekend of racing and hope that many VRG members come back and join us at Schenley Park.
