I’ve been invited to be on the SCCA Hall of Fame Selection Committee (which is only a first step in the process). While I can agree emotionally that Kas belongs, what is needed is a formal nomination which includes a healthy recitation of what he has done in the sport. I do not know the details of his career well enough to nominate him myself. Don’t assume anybody knows anything about Kas, give as detailed a nomination as you can. Multiple nominations is good.

Disclaimer: I’m not promising anything. Just advising about the process. I’ve only just been added to the committee and as yet have not even been advised about what I’ll be doing. I do know this – once someone is nominated, the nomination stays on file for years. I was inducted in Class of 2023 after being nominated around 2020.

While researching the TR4  that showed up on Marketplace, raced by a Larry Bassett out of Tulsa OK, I ran across the SCCA Hall Of Fame.  I see Bob Tullius has made the Hall in 2015,  but no mention of Kas.  He belongs there. With as much dedication and years of entries that SCCA class Champions Sam Halkias, Hardy Prentice and Fletcher Williams put in they belong there too.

I am no longer a member of the SCCA so I can't do this, but someone in our group surely can.

Hall of Fame Nominations
Overview
The SCCA Hall of Fame exists to recognize those members who have had a significant impact on our club and our sport. This may be through service to the national organization, achievements in competition, advancement of the sport, or bringing recognition to the SCCA that moves enthusiasts to seek out and become members of the SCCA.

Nominees should exemplify the leadership qualities and spirit of the sport that inspire us all. Contributions may be through participation as a competitor, as a member or official, or through exceptional actions benefiting the club and sport.

All nominations are kept in a permanent database. If your nominee has been submitted previously, your information will be added to that file. Nominations, new or existing, received by June 15th will be considered for induction at the next National Convention. Nominations received after that date will be eligible for induction the following year.
