[Fot] Enclosed Auto Transport?

Scott,

 

I have used four different carriers and not sure I actually have a favorite,
but sharing my experience.  Reliable was recommended to me by several that
have used them in BMW circles.  They are likely one of the best, but I found
them expensive and slow - all depends on if they can transport a full load.
Of course, it is all relative to the value of the car.  Below are my
experiences with all four carriers I have used, from/to locations as well.  

 

DC Auto Transport LLC - 

May 2024 from Buckley, WA to Apex, NC.  DC owns their trucks.  Car arrived
safely, they were great to deal with, communication great as well, quick and
very reasonable.

MONTWAY AUTO TRANSPORT   - 

Nov 2023 from Spokane, WA to Apex, NC. Montway is a broker.  Car arrived
safely, communication not so great, relatively quick and more reasonabl cost
wise than Reliable

Montway does not own their trucks, but is basically a broker / contractor.  

They shipped using OK Auto Carrier, Inc, which I understand is now
"permanently closed"

 

Reliable Auto Transport - 

Oct 2023 from Pontiac, MI to Apex, NC. Reliable owns their trucks.  Car
arrived safely, communication ok, relatively quick, but was primarily
because this pick up was near their headquarters in Detroit and I had the
car I purchased delivered to their terminal there.  I was planning to use
Reliable again for the second car above, but they used up their entire six
week guarantee period, so I shifted to Montway, who picked up the next day.
Reliable owns their trucks, so may be a little slower as they try to haul
only a complete load.    Reliable has five major terminals in Canton, MI;
Los Angeles, CA; Chandler, AZ; Fairfield, NJ and Orlando, FL  They are more
expensive, but their trucks are in great shape and once on the road, very
communicative.

Chips Transport Service

Jun 2023 - from Middletown, RI to Apex, NC.  Chips owns their trucks.  Car
arrived safely, communication was great, less expensive than Reliable in
cost.  Chips will haul both open and closed carriers.  They may use small
enclosed for one-off transports.

I had one "pick up" experience with a car I sold.  The buyer used Montway to
deliver it to Los Angeles, CA.  Montway in this case brokered it to LS
Express.  In this case, the drivers were in a hurry, not real talkative etc.
But, the car arrived in LA in great condition and on time.
