I talked to the seller about the car and he sent me a few more pictures. I have a soft spot in my brain for 250’s. He was very open and honest about it. It was built as an autocross car starting with a rust belt TR250. The car was deemed too far gone to restore at that point in time decades ago. Frame was repaired with angle iron and patches. Most body panels have bondo style rust repairs most evident in the “one piece” rear fenders and apron. His assessment is that it isn’t worth trying to bro g it back as it would need a new frame and most panels. Although a dedicated autocross car is a race car it is not a road racing car. If someone wanted to bring it back accepting the structural condition it’s a bargain starting point.
You only get one chance at life, make it a TRIUMPH.
