It was a long block with flywheel and clutch. Compete except for intake manifold and headers. JoeB

Joe,
When you shipped your engine, was it just the head and block or with carbs, alternator, starter, etc. attached?
Thanks,
Mark

Tom, while there have been a number of shipping companies suggested, packaging the engine was not mentioned. At a minimum it will need to be securely strapped to a pallet, but that does not offer much protection. The engine should really be enclosed in a crate. I ship my Miata engines in a specific engine shipping container. I made a steel frame in the container to secure the engine. The small block Chevy engine container (Scribner Plastics 5108CHEV Engine Case on Amazon for $267) works well. With the cost of lumber and the time to make a crate, it might be easier to buy and use the container. It's been costing me around $500 to ship from MA to KS via FedEx Freight.

Looking for the collective wisdom of the FOT.
I need to move an engine from Danville Pa, to northern Vermont (Westfield), and have no idea where to start.
Any thoughts, ideas, or suggestions are appreciated.
