Practice day update -
there were four closed wheel sessions, which meant a real mixed bag of cars, including big bore early mustangs, a few late model BMWs with wings, a variety of Porsches, and the usual small/medium bore vintage English, German, etc. Let’s say speeds varied widely, as did track knowledge.
The weather was the big event for the day - soaking wet until about 10 AM, then it flip-flopped from sun to showers seemingly about every 20 minutes. On balance, though, there were some mostly dry sessions and good learning experiences for this Mosport newbie.
The track is mostly awesome. Kind of feels like Watkins glen, except there are more rapid elevation changes and some really challenging corners. I say mostly because the pavement is surprisingly not great. Some areas that are pretty bumpy. Not enough to ruin the experience, but enough to notice. On balance, it’s one of the more fun tracks I’ve driven, and I suspect I’ll make the eight hour tow to do it again next year.
Already the usual breakage in the Triumph crowd. Someone spun and hit the wall ( no injuries but the car is unusable for the weekend), there’s a broken diff (TR4), a broken shock (Spitfire) and a broken transmission (spitfire) being swapped out as I write this.
Tomorrow, qualifying at 10:30 for most of us and a race in the afternoon.

Thanks Bob. That's a good update.
Does the event have a feed on Youtube?
