Sorry for you, having travelled so far, it seems bad luck follows you north. Hoping for better future results.

Hope to see you again next year.

Ooops 4 times in 30 years not 3 years!
You only get one chance at life, make it a TRIUMPH.

Unfortunately the car suffered multiple issues along the way; a spark plug came apart in an early practice session and the ceramic portion was ejected along with the attached plug wire. Came in on 3 cylinders but the guts of the plug must have gotten sucked in on the downstroke as the cylinder wall got a bit scuffed. It was noisy the rest of the way, but not hurting too bad. Then another oddity happened dumping most of the crankcase onto the track in turn 5. The track workers handed me my oil filter when they loaded the car. The steel spin on adapter threads had pulled their mates out of the Purolator filter head. I thought my weekend was over but an FOT had a replacement head and adapter. When I went to screw on the filter the threads on the new adapter seemed a little loose and I took some time trying to clean up the threads on the original one, but I couldn’t get them cleaned up satisfactorily. I tried the new one again, this time tightening the filter all the way and it seemed fine. I was back in business in time to qualify and do the cup race. I parked it after that to save it for the memorial race. Sunday morning I rechecked everything and made sure the filter was tight with an oil filter wrench. As the guys on track know it didn’t last. The oil filter came loose and started dumping oil again, this time without be noticing until I was 3 wide trying to pass two cars to my left coming out of 5C. At speed I got off to the grass as fast as I could but I ruined a second session for you all. I’m really sorry about that. I restarted it on the grass and since it has oil pressure I was able to drive up the grass and get behind the wall and into the lower paddock. I picked it up with my trailer and didn’t open the hood. When I saw the loose filter it was a relief and regret sandwich. No blown engine, no major issues, no fireballs. I’ve oiled a track 4 times in 3 years of racing, once in Tx, once here in 2003 and 2 times this weekend. Mosport clearly owns me, but I finished the J Cup and that’s the reason I had to come back. I won’t be back again!
