I think there is a link to subscribing at bmcutah.org - if not, have brother in law ask his friend to get in touch with me via email, and I will try to get him hooked up. Just got back from a fine day out with the club, had a good turnout for a run to an old mining town west of SLC. mjb. -------------- next part -------------- A non-text attachment was scrubbed... I said I'd be happy to send around some some basic info so he sent me a couple paragraphs on the Mini and a few snappies of the Jamaican. I haven't seen the cars myself but could take a look if you know anyone who might be interested. NFI, just hoping to spread the word. Thanks for the suggestion to do a writeup on the cars. I'm starting with the Mini. I'm hitting some of the highpoints. I've done so much to the car that there's no way to capture it all.? It was built in October 1978 for the 1979 model year as a Canadian issue Mini 1000. I bought it May 7, 1993, from Bob Mastrianni, owner of Master Tool & Machine, Inc., in Plainville, Connecticut. Bob back-dated the car with chrome bumpers, 10-inch Minilite style wheels, and body-mounted front turn signals. He replaced the rocker panels and front floors, and shot the car in its original Java Green. He sold me the car to finance his next project ? rebuilding a 1965 Bell helicopter. I added a Weather Shield folding sunroof from a similar car in Canada and had it professionally installed in August 1996. I installed a Mini Mania rebuilt transmission and 1275 A+ engine in 1998. I have used Castrols 20-50 oil for the duration of my ownership. Rear subframe was replaced in July 2002. Suspension is fully adjustable with hi-lows, adjustable tie-rods and control arms, and rear camber plates. New radiator, Steering rack, front subframe bushings, September 2010. New clutch, LCB manifold, and stainless exhaust, May 2011 New tires, Yokohama A008, June 2023 New battery, August 2025 I only drove the car in summer and never more than a couple thousand miles each year. Gauges are metric and the odometer has been stuck for years, so no idea how many miles It has traveled.? So, that's the basics. I can supply more detail if there is interest.?Thanks again,?Doug -------------- next part -------------- An HTML attachment was scrubbed...
