Friendly Ghost Racing FoT Press Release:
We made a great last ditch effort to get one of our favorite GT6's on track
for the last race of the season at Blackhawk Farms.
Over the last couple weeks we worked through several issues and fixed some
important broken components on the #27 yellow GT6+.
Through late-night engineering and stellar work, we prepared a very capable
car.
Once at the track, witnessing the small club environment of Midwestern
Council, I felt a good grassroots pride about the racing to come.
Midwestern Council races lump all the vintage cars into one group..... so
its Cobra, Corvette, Mini, Sprite, BMW, Sportsracer; all going for the big
win.
Race day format is one practice session, one qualifying session, and one
30-minute race.
I always race better when I am lucky enough to have Brian Garcia as my crew
chief.
We're talking tire temps, pressures, tweaks, tests, torques, fine-tunes,
and balances.
Practice was like an F1 tutorial.
Qualifying was power bliss. ( I matched my PR and qualified 5th of 15 cars.)
The race was 30 minutes of Balls out lapping.
Finished 4th after 22 strong laps.
My GT6 drove like a dream.
