Or imagine someone who has been doing this job hundreds if not thousands of times.

They start getting really really good at it .. paint thinned just right, right size
of brush, skill at knowing just the right loading on the brush and knowing how to lay it on. They make it look
very very easy to do (like a good finish painter doing trim work) because they have the skill but not so easy for the 'first timer'.
