Its time to find a new body shop and media shop. You should be able to 
powder coat. It is much thicker than paint. If not we have backing plates 
and rear ends available.

Unless the blaster blew holes in the housing you can use a product called 
Z-Chrome that will fill the voids. You can apply it with a brush, roller or 
spray.  Three coats and some sanding and it will be smooth again.  The 
pickup truck guys use it for smoothing out rust pits on their old rides.

It turns out I need a new differential housing with brake backplates. B  The 
sandblaster used coarse sand by mistake and etched the sh*t out of it. B 
There isn't enough primer filler paint that can smooth it out. B Anyone have 
a rear end sitting around they would like to sell? B Crap, first the painter 
loses my LeMans bonnet, now this.
