Kees,

When Rootes proposed to build the Tiger, they arranged for the build of two
prototypes; a well-funded one by Shelby and a bargain basement one by Ken
Miles. Shelby wanted to land the contract to build the cars in the US, but
Rootes decided to build the cars at the Jensen factory at West Bromwich and
pay a royalty to Shelby for each car built. Tigers seem to be ahead of the
market in appreciation due to the Shelby connection in the development and
Shelby's passing. Prices have risen quite steeply over the last few years.
