[Healeys] JB8 Stuck Heater Valve

From a guy with (yet another) broken handle:

1) remove the valve from the block (you'll have to drain at least some
of the coolant)

2) disassemble the valve (the ball valve is spring-loaded)

3) thoroughly clean corrosion and other residue from all parts (a stiff
toothbrush and penetrating oil--like Kroil--should work well)

4) lubricate moving parts (the ball valve, mostly) with a good
anti-seize grease (probably a good idea to lube the threads on the
handle as well, in case you need to get a broken stub out)

Can't testify for a fact this will prevent (eventual) freezing-up of the
valve, but it should help.

Bob

ps. Goes for the drain valve on the lower block, too.

pps. AutoFarm has replacement handles, but I had no luck getting the
old 'stub' out without significantly damaging the valve
