I have never had any luck with those things.  Even if I can perfectly center the drill for the starter hole, I put some pressure on the EZ-Out, nothing moves.  I put more pressure on it and SNAP! Now I have a broken EZ-Out, whose hardened steel makes the problem even worse.  I’ve had better luck with penetrating oil (not WD-40, but PB Blaster or similar), heat, and patience.
