[Healeys] Carpet question

I took Dave's advice and found a product at NAPA that is 3M 08440 Sound deadening Mat. It comes in packages of 10 50cmX50cm sheets which figures to about 27 square feet per package. The cost was a little over $100 including tax which works out to about $4.00 per square foot. It is similar to Dynamite, but If I recall the last time I looked at that stuff it was about 3 times that cost. It doesn't have the foil facing, but I don't think that presents much benefit anyway.

I lined the floors, part of the firewall and the doors with it. Now the doors close with a clunk, not a clang.

I used similar insulation in the floors and the tunnel inside and outside. Made the tunnel much heavier. Also, applied to the inside of the bonnet. Much less expensive than dynmate and really sticks to the metal.
