Interested to see that you feel it necessary to add additional zinc. VR1 already has 1300 ppm ?
Is there a consensus on what amount is actually needed? Think that you can have too much too ?Am a VR1 user but don't add anything.rg

I add a bottle of Red Line break-in additive with my annual oil change of Valvoline VR-1 20W50 racing oil. Bruce SteeleBrea, CA1960 BN7 From: Healeys [mailto:healeys-bounces at autox.team.net] On Behalf Of wwycoffbn7--- via Healeys

Hello, Tagging on to Michael's comment on ZDDP in oils, what additives do folks tend to use in their oils. Products like Red Line's "Engine oil beak-in additive" or something from NAPA, etc.? Having seen worn cams and pitted tappets, there is a desire to keep that sort of wear from happening as best as one can. Bill
