[Healeys] Long bolt BN1 remote control housing

Eric- the short bolt is the same as the ones used on the side cover:
5/16 x 22 BSF and about 7/8" long to the head. 2K3094

	Yes, Permatex Aviation is what I normally use. Lately I have been
using the "High Tack". Use it on all gaskets and if the overdrive is
apart at the brake ring do BOTH sides of the ring, but without a
gasket...be careful not to get any inside the OD unit. Ignore passage
in workshop manual telling you not to use sealant on ring...if you
don't, it will leak. These are 60 year old parts and they are tired.

Oh, I’m a donut, just trusted the spare parts list without having a
close look to what’s in front of me. Ordered a long bolt from an
German Healey parts supplier - so they also do not know that there is
a mislead.Hank, do you now how long the “short” setscrew
is?Related to the gaskets I normally use permatex Aviation 3h on both
sides - do you think that will work - it’s the first time I’m
doing a BN1 gearbox 😀

Actually there are 5 long bolts, setscrews (2K3109) that secure the
control (9) to the side cover ((7) and one stud on the left-middle for
a nut/spring washer... there is one short one (2K3097) on
right-middle... the parts book is incorrect listing the long for the
short. Three setscrews (2K3094) on the left, then additionally hold
the cover to the box. See diagram. Remember the two gaskets and use
sealant each side or they will leak.
