[Healeys] Steering wheel question

The two columns types, from the forward side of the steering box front covers to the end of the splines are, pretty much the same length. That would lead you to think the steering wheel on the adjustable type would move closer to the dash than the fixed wheel. The location of the splines in the wheels are in a different location fore and aft. The collect on the adjustable wheel is forward on the wheel hub and the fixed wheel splines are just under the retaining nut. So after going back to the garage and making some crude measurements it looks like the adjustable steering wheel can be about two inches closer to the dash. Could be wrong as its almost bed time….

Subject: [Healeys] Steering wheel question

Where is the steering wheel in a 3000 with a non-adjustable column located in relation to one with an adjustable column? I know the adjustable column allows the steering wheel to get closer to the dash. But does it allow the wheel to extend further out than the non-adjustable wheel?
