I also have gone to parts stores and purchased rubber blade inserts and cut to size.  At one time I knew TRICO the part number to purchase the blades, which was the original manufacturer of the wiper and blade, if my memory serves me correctly.

Harold,  I too have the original ‘Rainbow’ wiper assemblies on my BN2 and my tri-carb.

Back in the eighties, when I lived in Kitsilano, I used to be able to buy rubber blade inserts from Canadian Tire.

They stocked several different profiles including an almost exact fit for the flexible blade holder. They were longer than 9” so I simply cut them to length.

 

Down here in Auckland I’ve found a very similar profile made by Repco.  Not that it’s any use to you being down here in the Antipodes.

Hello,

 

A previous post triggered me to look at my collection of wiper arms and wiper blades. I have some original “Rainbow Made in England” wiper blades but the rubber has disintegrated. Are there refills available? The refills are 9” long and 3/8” wide.

Is there a source and part number?
