If I recall correctly there is a video with instruction and tips on
installing a BJ-8 convertible top. I think it was from Moss Motors,
maybe... Anyway, do you have that, or other instruction you are working
from?
If now, I can look around and see if I still have a copy.

One thing I am really struggling with is the installation of the convertible top. The frame is installed, I recovered all of the wood pieces and have reinstalled those.
