I think that “trophy” materials should be available.  Some operators really
thrive on that stuff.  Heck, I am proud of my 2001 JCNA Nationals grille
badge, even though I will never place it on the car.

Pens—well, they are good for the global project and relatively inexpensive.

But what about an inexpensive “mini-medallion”  --aka button or tie
clip—that could be affixed to a larger general badge.  That way,
participants could have some marking for each sector through which they
drove.  Maybe offer a “special” badge for the one with the most  “points.”
Makes the whole thing sort of rally-esque.
