Hi Carl

60 people at a JONAT event seems pretty good participation, at least event
wise!  (Well done!).

As the Tour matures through it's travels, there have been a number of items
to contemplate, one of which is participation.  My own opinion is
participation is related to a number of factors, but mostly on how much "the
word" has gotten out.

Where the SC's have spent considerable time promoting their Sector,
participation has been great.  Where this is not the case, participation has
been disappointing.  There are, of course, a few localized exceptions -
these seem to be where the local clubs have not helped the SC's in promotion
of the event (a couple of instances of this localized to specific cities).

One of the lessons learned is publicity, but not only by the SC's - also by
JONAT central - we kept the price of participation (too) low and hence no
monies for publicity on an overall Tour level.  Another lesson learned is to
promote more cross-sector-border participation - I think this is the thing
that surprised myself the most that more people were not considering this a
holiday and taking a week for the Tour - most seemed to take a weekend or a
day or two.

Things for the downstream SC's to contemplate, as well as food for thought
for "JONAT - The Sequel".

It appears the JONAT tour is down to 2 cars - both from New England --  
coming from Stowe VT to Boston. Disappointing.  But we will have a great
party at 
the Larz Anderson Auto Museum anyway -- more than 60 people, 40  Jaguars,
for 
a BBQ, Museum Exhibits and Lawn Show.  I wonder whether the  tour ventured
too 
far north -- nobody is coming down from Canada on this  leg.
