I have not read the reports of the other sectors but my experience in
Ottawa was that those who participated were , in the main, club members
from Ottawa who were " encouraged". The exceptions were Mike Powley who
was enroute PEI for a wedding and who made a great effort to do a number
of legs along the road. The other addition was a family from upstate NY
who were on a holiday.
I hate to say it but the concept of a linked tour around the continent
needs revisiting. There will be sectors that attract numbers of folks
depending on the time of year and those that
don't-Why?-cost-timing-vehicle availability-competing club events etc.
I very much enjoyed in being involved from the beginning and would like
to publicly congratulate Bob, Fazal, Greg and Jamie for their insight,
enthusiasm and consistent dedication.
