[JONAT-chat] JCNA

Bob,

JCNA has insurance to cover this stuff which is included with membership. I
know if you are a non-member entering a concours, you have to pay an
additional $5 for coverage. As this is a traveling event as opposed to a
parked event, the charge might be higher. JCNA member-at-large membership is
only $52/year and you get the Jaguar Journal, so it might be worth
considering.

Because we allow non-members at the concours, I think a two-tiered price
members/non-members to cover the insurance would be acceptable.

Mark

Hi Mark

The document looks pretty good (actually very good!). In my own pedantic
way, I've a few items that you may want to update in the final document.

- the idea actually germinated from an thread on the JagLovers XJ list
started by Dr. Gregory Andrachuck, who had just bought a new Mk 2 as I
recall and was thinking out loud about driving the car. Fazal was certainly
an early key instigator, as I think it was he that picked up the thread and
started running with it. Now this is about two years ago now or more, and
the little grey cells are dying off ever so slowly, so I may be off a bit
but this is my recollection.

- I'm actually in Regina, not Calgary. (I did live in Calgary for a few
years, so you are forgiven!)

- Greg Meboe is from the Seattle area, and Fazal is from Australia.

- as someone has already mentioned, Jay was donated. The plates and decals,
shipping, (and bank charges!) were also some costs to the tour.

- would JCNA membership be a prerequisite of the Tour? If it is possible
with JCNA sponsorship, my own thoughts would be to keep it open to everyone
(with perhaps a lower cost for JCNA membership).

- regarding the name, I think JONAT would still be OK, but if there is a
better name, let's use it!

All-in-all Mark, very well done! Keep us posted on how it turns out.

Bob England

Fellow JONATers,

I received last minute word that I can present the proposal to JCNA's Board
of Directors. Unfortunately, not being on the board, I saw no reason to
attend the meeting Thursday, so I won't be there until Friday. I'm going to
be counting on a Dennis Eynon, to present it for me.

In the meantime, I'm e-mailing this to all the board members.
<http://www.pfdepot.com/JagAmProp.pdf>. (It's a bit over a gig so give it
time to load.) If you have a chance read it over.

It may not be 100% accurate, but it's close. I was just going on
recollection.

If it passes, it will be added to the AGM agenda this weekend. If you want
to mail me corrections or suggestions, I'll incorporation them into the
version I distribute at the AGM.

Thanks, and wish me luck.
