Bob,=20
Thinking about the San Francisco segment, we have a lot of great roads
to drive, and a lot of spectacular visiting sites, and we don't have a =
layover
day. =20
The approach I am considering is "optional drives". From Monterey to=20
San Francisco is a pretty quick drive, but I have a route that takes all =
day.
Likewise from SF to Napa Valley. So participants will be given the =
option of=20
puttzing to SF, then to Napa Valley, and taking the equivalent of a =
layover
day in Monterey, San Francisco, and/or Napa Valley at their pleasure. =20
Those who want to experience the driving and the varied scenery can take =
the=20
drives instead, and just have a little sightseeing in the evenings =
before dinner
and breakfast the next day. =20
How does this sound? I was considering requesting a layover day, but I =
think
this is a nice compromise. One thing we lose is the chance to attend =
any=20
local daytime events... I hope we may find an evening event or two.

Subject: [JONAT] Itinerary Date Adjustments
As some of you may be aware, we have a few gaps in the Tour when it =
comes to people to coordinate a few particular Sectors. As all the =
Sector Coordinators that are in place are getting well advanced in their =
planning, I have decided to do some more detailed (still pretty sketchy =
though) route planning for these unfilled Sectors until such time as =
these Sector Coordinators are in place. What this re-review of the =
route has meant is the Tour has stretched a couple of days, with one =
extra day needed for the Minneapolis Sector, and one for the Chicago =
Sector. This will effect planning "downstream" of these sectors by =
these same two days (unless as I go through I find some of the other =
Sectors can be pulled back a day).
The itinerary has been brought up to date, at least from Orlando =
through to Chicago. I would appreciate any feedback you can provide as =
to whether this constitutes a problem at this time or not.
