Sure Jerry ... I'll give you an example of our local Sector group.

Ian has about 10 to 11 people on his committee. The idea being to make sure
no-one has an overwhelming amount of work to do. i.e. it has to stay fun
for the organizers as well as the participants.

As far as accommodations go, we have 3 nights to plan. This includes
arranging for the best rate we can get at our chosen hotels / resorts for
each of the 3 nights. Arranging for event space (i.e. welcome party on
first night of our Sector at the resort). First day of our sector is mostly
driving, but we are thinking of a low key informal event for those who want
to participate. Second day is a very short drive (45mi), so we're arranging
for a few things for people to do. The third and last day is again mostly a
drive (we are checking the route tomorrow as a matter of fact).

There was talk at the beginning of organizing the tour of a group charity or
fundraising event. Our sector has taken the bull by the horns and selected
MS as our local charity (two of our local groups spouses are suffering with
this disease).

If you look at
http://jonat.org/bob/JONAT_SECTORS_Regina.htm
you'll get the idea of how the local group is organized.

Keep in mind the above is one Sector's vision only. Ron in LA has a
completely different organization, and I think Gregory in Victoria is
thinking along the same lines as Ron. Bottom line, the organization is
strictly up the the SC's - I'd like to see a 2IC in place for each sector in
case an SC has something come up which does not allow them to continue as
SC.

Bob

Huh? I guess you all will have to 'splain it to
me one more time...

My understanding was that participants were responsible for
making their own reservations -- based on our recommendations,
who are we making reservations for?

And what's the charity angle? My understanding was that this
is to be a grass-roots low impact fun tour. Am I missing something?
Can you give me a scenario for a charity tie-in, just to get me on the
same wavelength?

Jerry
