That's Phoenix -- this is California. Believe me, tho Marriott in=20
Phoenix was super deluxe compared to the pretty basic motel=20
environment at Quality Suites. In fact, that Mariott was remarkable --
among the best hotel experiences I have had -- and I have had many!
Bring your greenbacks. We'll try to get cheap options, too, but
sub-$50 is probably the Roach Motel range in many California cities.
Wait till you see the prices at Monterey and St. Helena!

Wow, that's mid-range? I think of low as being sub-$50, mid- being =
closer to $100, high being over $100. We negotiated the special rate of =
$99 for the Marriott in Phoenix for the Challenge Championship. I'm =
thinking more Fairfield Inn type places -- basic but very nice and =
depending on where you are in the country $60 per night and up.

Thanks for the great job lining up XKs Unlimited. I am supposed to
be putting on the SLO dinner, right? And if so I can follow up with =
XKs.
I plan to have all the maps and instructions online too, for people =
who
want an independent run -- maybe people who want to take the tour=20
another day. We'll distribute paper versions too. But based on the =
mission, I am thinking that I won't have too much to do, and will be =
able to enjoy the trip as a participant.
Great idea for adding an event as part of the drive. I'll have to =

up with something like that, too.

when we get down to booking things then I will have others in =
the club handle those.
if we need a route coordinator from SD to LA I will have some =
one else do that.
