[JONAT] Fw: J06

While I like the idea, I don't think it eliminates the problem we also have
for the big circle. Most people don't have the time or the wheels to drive a
couple thousand miles. If one lived a few hundred miles from Dearborn, that
would work, but we'd get almost no participation from the coasts.

As an example, we had the Challenge Championship in Phoenix in 2003. This is
JCNA's glamour event. We had about 160 cars show up. Of those nearly half
were from in state. There were probably 25 of people from the governing
bodies of JCNA. So we had about fifty cars from outside the area who
voluntarily chose to be there. Many of those were trailered in. I think you
could count on one hand the number of people who drove more than a thousand
miles to get to Phoenix.

I think we should go with what we know -- the loop -- for now. Then think
about trying different things in the future.

G'day.

My suggestion for J06 is to change the format to a 'wagon-wheel' type where
we start from different points and end up in Dearborn, at Ford HQ for a 4th
July bbq courtesy of Mr Ford.

Much of the previous concept can be used. Eg, SC's will be needed especially
on the PAG/Dearborn route which will probably have to be divided into
sectors anyway. I get everybody's input so that a final plan can be put
together ASAP. I will then use my contacts in Jaguar to see what their
reaction is.

Comments please.

 Cheers
Fazal
