Dan,
Mike Hawke's K3 Dossier was a credible effort at the time to
document each of the original cars but this was published in 1992. Since
that time much more information has come to light changing or expanding the
picture quite considerably on many of the cars. The original book was
written with little contact with some of the more reclusive K3 owners whose
cars had not been seen in years by anyone really knowledgeable. I don't
think their was a large print run of this book to start with and they were
sold out years ago. Britbooks do come up with copies occasionally but at a
price.
Mike has spent years working on an updated Dossier, perhaps
including all of the MMM race cars, but threats of lawsuits by some "owners"
have apparently derailed his efforts. The waters on some of the cars are
more than just a bit cloudy. Of course there are now far more "replica"
K3's than the genuine articles.
The MMM register's annual yearbooks have frequently focused on
individual K3's with comprehensive and updated histories. These Yearbooks
are highly recommended, include great tech articles and worldwide MMM
coverage. I would once again like to suggest that the North American MMM
Register work out a deal with the parent club to make these more easily
available in the US. How about just raising our dues and including it or
make it an option on top of regular dues???
Cheers,
Chris Nowlan

I was wondering why the book titled the ' K3 Dossier' was so expensive.
Like
most MMM, I am fascinated by the K3 and would love to read/see the book.
However, the prices for the book I've seen are out of my range. Anyone have
any comments on the book ? ANyone hear of any reprints down the road ?? Any
used copies around ?
Thanks,
Dan
