[Mg-mmm] PA Engine "Knock"

Gerald,
That is most interesting. I had a dynamo shaft break in the top bearing a
couple of years ago. When I asked everyone no one had ever heard of it
happening. Looks like it is more common than everyone thought.
The fix for mine was to machine the shaft end flat and tap a hole into it
and make a new end piece with a male thread on it and screw it in. All good
so far although fair to say not done 1000 miles, but it is a supercharged
engine Obviously need to get the thread the right way around so id doesn't
undo. Can't remember whether it was left hand or right hand thread.
Regards,
Chris

I had a Dyno shaft break just above the commutator. I had a new shaft
made which screwed into the old shaft with left handed threads. I made
it out of SS. It worked fine for many 1000 miles.
