Hello Friends,

Another small bit of progress, rebuilding my TD's interior. Some of the
wood bits are going back in. Others still are yet to be located. (I took
this car apart about four years ago!)

I have also begun adding padding for under the upholstery, in the rear at
least. Here's an early-work-in-progress picture.

I have previously glued vinyl upholstery material down without padding and
have never been pleased buy how much of the underlying surface
irregularities show through. This padding is about 1/8" (3mm) thick and is
the solution to that problen. Its foam between two tough plastic cloth
layers and conforms to most curved surfaces. In the picture, you can see
where I had to add a splice when the surface curvature was too great. Glues
down with contact cement just fine. The stuff was about $10/yard at Jo-Ann
Fabrics.

I have trial fitted the wheel well upholstery from the Moss interior kit
and it conforms beautifully over the padding.

I now need to apply the padding to the other wheel-well and the side
curtain compartment door, and I'll be ready to add the Honey Tan
upholstery! More pictures to follow.
